This amazing journey has been so much more than placing one foot in front of the other, more than just running. This journey has changed my life forever. I am going to be so emotional at the finish line because I know that all this hard work and dedication to running will all be for a reason. I believe in myself and I won't stop believing in myself because this is my life and I need to start living it the way that makes me the most happy.
Running
My first half marathon was the Divas Half Marathon & 5K Series on April 28, 2013 in North Myrtle Beach, SC. This will most certainly will not be my last half marathon and I do plan on moving up to a full marathon one day! In January I started my training for the half marathon and could not run for more than 20 minutes without completely hating every second of it. It is a pure mental game and I had to overcome the thoughts in my head saying to slow down or stop to really move forward. Running is my passion and I am convinced that I will keep running until my body cannot run anymore. I have totally transformed from a non-runner to a running addict all thanks to Hal Higdon's Training Program.
